Building Policies

Fall 2020 EIU Wesley Foundation Building Policies and Procedures


EIU Wesley Foundation’s building is only available for use in accordance with the guidelines below, as long as students are on campus at EIU and Coles County is designated in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan. These policies will be in place until Coles County reaches Phase 5 and regular activity can resume. In the event that the EIU campus closes, the Wesley Foundation building will be closed.


Masks must be worn when two or more people are in a room together. Use of the building, other than for scheduled events or the uses listed below, is prohibited.


Upon entry of the building or attending a Wesley Foundation event, all individuals must sign in with the following information: first and last name, phone number, email address, and date and time of visit. Using the thermometer provided, each individual should take their temperature and record it next to their name, then sign the statement included on the page. Please take a copy of this policy, to refer to in the future. After signing in, please use the hand sanitizer provided.


General guidelines:

·         The building is only open when an employee is present and during scheduled events.

·         Everyone is required to wear masks while inside the building and during scheduled events.

·         Please wipe down surfaces used prior to leaving.

·         Anyone with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher, or any other symptoms of COVID-19, will not be permitted to stay.


Use of the Computer Room:

Please make every effort to make your visit as brief as possible, especially when there are other students in the computer room or who need to use a computer or the printer. Wipe the computer keyboard and counter surface when you leave the room.


Use of Great Room:

Only regularly scheduled Foundation-related events may be held in the Great Room, with social distancing. Socializing prior to or after an event is discouraged.


Use of the Worship Room:

Only regularly scheduled Wesley Foundation events may be held in the worship room. Singing is not allowed at this time. All participants must sit as far apart as possible. Socializing prior to or after an event is discouraged.


Use of the Prayer Room:

The Prayer Room may be used by one person at a time. Please keep your use brief.


Reporting: Anyone who has attended a Wesley Foundation event or utilized the building and then tests positive for or is diagnosed with COVID-19 is asked to contact the Wesley Foundation at (217) 348-8191 or betzy@eiuwesley.org.


Students or other participants who have been informed of potential exposure to COVID-19 are requested to join Wesley Foundation events online until being cleared by the health department.


Employees will self-certify daily that they do not have a temperature above 100.4°F or any symptoms of COVID-19.


Note: our janitor is part-time and will not be available to clean the building on a daily basis. For everyone’s health and safety, please clean up after yourself.
